Omar has been barbering for half of his life – he started  cutting mens hair at the age of 15, playing with his dad’s clippers, before deciding to take it seriously and turn barbering into his career. Over the past 15 years, he’s been a barber in the upper East side, and across New Jersey, spending the last 5 years in Hoboken. He understands the importance of barbers as part of a community and a space for men to take care of themselves – and says that he enjoys meeting people, telling and listening to stories, and finding out about people’s lives. Omar also recognizes the power that a good haircut has to change someone’s mood, bringing them confidence.

Omar considers his strengths that he enjoys the consultation process, and helping each client find the right style and shape for their hair type and facial structure – and excels at classic business style haircuts and fades. He’s also a brilliant wet shaver having spent countless hours refining his craft, and says that experiencing a great hot towel shave is “one of the finer things in life”.

He was once called to an airport hangar to cut the hair of some VIPs, which is one of his favorite stories to tell. When he’s not cutting hair, Omar enjoys spending time with his family and dog, and can often be found nose-deep in a good book – fiction or non-fiction, he just loves reading. He’s also into powerlifting and outdoor activities.
